Mobile is Destroying Students’ Future
Message from SARAL SHIKSHYA ACADEMY
"You don't have a problem with time; you have a problem with distractions." "Five minutes on the phone will cost you two hours of productivity!"
At SARAL SIKSHYA ACADEMY, we always focus on helping students build strong habits for academic success and a better future. One of the biggest challenges students face today is not lack of intelligence but constant distraction from mobile phones.
Mobile devices have become crucial in many students' lives; therefore, mobile devices have become a major source of distraction. Many students begin studying with full energy and motivation; however, after a few minutes they become overwhelmed by the desire to check their phone within a few minutes of starting their studies. The result is that checking a notification quickly turns into several hours of scrolling through TIKTOK, INSTAGRAM, and FACEBOOK.
Distraction causes students to be less focused on what they are doing. Even if a student sits with textbooks for long periods of time, their thoughts will not be completely engaged with their textbooks. As a result, while students may be doing a lot of studying, they are not actually learning anything. Students who use their mobile devices regularly become unable to retain information due to decreased motivation, performance, and exam-related stress.
Time wastage is another significant factor associated with the excessive use of mobile devices. For example, while 2–3 hours of daily "scrolling" may not seem like an extensive amount of time over a single day, once compounded over a period of time it becomes a large loss of time. This time spent on mobile devices could be more productively used to review, practice, or enhance skill development.
However, all is not lost. The answer is clear: manage how much time you are spending on your phone. You can do this by putting your phone down during study time; turning off notifications that do not relate to your studies; and creating a set time to use your phone. Rather than just using the phone as an entertainment system, consider using it as a tool to learn by watching some educational videos or solving practice problems.
Having a disciplined mindset is very important in this regard. Success does not only come from how much studying you do; it also comes from your ability to manage your behaviours; if you can manage your phone usage and other distractions, you can be more engaged in your studies, save more time, and do a better job of preparing for your exams.
A smartphone can be a great way for you to succeed in life, but using it improperly can also have a significant negative impact on your concentration and future.
The decision is yours: to use your phone to help you, or to use it to destroy you.
